That is assuming that you have the required 9.6V batteries already. It provides a good beam, but as has been noted by other reviewers it does seem a bit flimsy.
I had 2 extra batteries and a charger. If you have the right batteries and a charger, this is a great flashlight. Someone stole my drill that used the same battery. I wanted to upgrade the drill and to find good use for what I already had. This flashlight fit my needs to a "T".
My husband loves this flashlight. We both really missed it so I found this one and I researched for the best price. We already had one and the battery and charger. I had to buy him a new one because I left the old one too close to our fireplace. This was a bargain. Highly recommend it, just don't leave next to heat source for very long.
It uses Makita batteries which last a long time and it comes with an extra bulb in the head of the flashlight.I got my first one as a part of a kit and did not use it. This flashlight is very bright, very dependable and very economical. It throws a beam farther than any flashlight I have ever owned. It looked like a cub scout flashlight or something, but when we started using it, we realized what a great light it was, so I got another one. This will probably be the last flashlight you will ever need to buy.
Flash light works great. Even better that it works with same battery pack as the drill (same generation/model series).
